Our Little Gil

Gil is my son’s Crested Gecko.  After we had to get rid of his pair of rats (Tina & Tonya) we racked our brains for months trying to think of the perfect pet.  I looked at different types of lizards, but then a co-worker of mine turned me on to the Crested Gecko.  She was right…the perfect pet for a 9 year old (other than a dog, which we already have).  Gil is colorful, interesting to watch, fun to play with and easy to clean up after.

I took this shot when Gil was only about 6-8 weeks old.  He loves to lick his eyes when he is nice and relaxed.

Show Me Those Horns!

This shot was taken at the School of Rock Music Best of Season show in Apple Valley, Minnesota.  This shot show’s the power that young Sam wields enticing the young fans to throw up the horns.  This was my first shoot for the School of Rock and it was a blast.  I got a lot of great shots which can be seen in this Flickr set.  I am in the process of going through some more shots from more current shows…this time with my son on guitar!

I played guitar and bass when I was in high school and would have KILLED for an opportunity to play in a school like this.  Their shows are so well done and the teachers are incredible.  I highly recommend checking them out if you have a musically inclined 8-18 year old.  You can find them at www.schoolofrock.com.
